Made in America
Made in USA Is a Product Claim—Not a Vibe
Why Project American separates where a company is based from where a product is actually manufactured.
Project American treats origin as structured evidence, not marketing decoration.
An American company is not automatically an American-made product.
A company may be headquartered in the United States while importing finished goods. Another product may be assembled domestically from imported components. A third may be printed in America on an imported blank. Those are materially different facts for a buyer who cares where production happens.
Our labels keep the distinction visible.
Only a product with reviewed qualifying evidence receives a prominent Made in USA badge. Unknown origin remains unknown. Company identity, facility location, and product origin are reviewed as separate attributes.
Credibility is an economic asset. A useful marketplace tells buyers what is known, what was reviewed, and what remains unverified.
Corrections are part of the system.
Manufacturing arrangements change. We date verifications, preserve supporting evidence internally, and provide a corrections path for companies and readers. Sponsored or affiliate relationships do not change the origin standard.
Disclosure: This is an original Project American standards explainer, not legal advice or a government-origin determination.
